His Kids (3rd–5th Grade) and His Kids Jr (Kinder–2nd Grade) are Christ-centered music education groups for children. They regularly meet September-December and January-April on Sunday afternoons from 4:00-5:30pm at the north campus.
Weekly meeting times consist of 45 minutes of age level education time which includes drama and music theory and 45 minutes of choir time. The 4th and 5th graders play tone chimes during their education time. Choir time is spent in preparation for musicals in December and April.
His Kids & His Kids Jr focus on fun, team building and learning Biblical concepts through music. Volunteer Team Leaders work to create a small group atmosphere within the large group. Activity days provide an opportunity for His Kids to have a good time together and get to know each other better. Register at either campus or print out the registration form: HisKids or His Kids Jr.
Cherub Choir is a musical group for children 2-5 years old. We meet on Tuesday mornings during the school year at the North Campus from 9:00-9:50am. Fill out the sign-up form!
Choir time is structured to meet the unique needs of preschoolers and consists of seven areas:
- Singing teaches children the enjoyment of song, enhances memory skills and teaches Biblical concepts through music.
- Listening increases the child’s awareness of sounds around him/her and improves listening and following direction skills.
- Movement encourages children to become aware of their bodies and enhances moving in rhythm.
- Finger-plays teaches Biblical concepts through rhyme and helps children use their arms, fingers and other body parts to create.
- Bells builds color recognition and coordination.
- Theory introduces musical concepts such as fast/slow, high/low, go/stop, and basic musical notation.
- Story time develops a love for reading.
Cherub Choir is a fun, positive, casual activity for the children. Parents can either leave their Cherubs or stay with them for the activities if the child would be more comfortable.
